2Baba and manager, Omorogbe quit partnership after an epic 20-year journey together

The music industry is abuzz with the news of the split between Innocent Idibia, famously known as 2Baba, and his longtime manager, Efe Omorogbe, after an illustrious 20-year collaboration.

Efe Omorogbe, a native of Delta State and the CEO of talent management company Now Muzik, had been instrumental in shaping 2Baba’s career over the past two decades.

The announcement of their separation came via a joint statement posted on Instagram by Now Muzik on Wednesday. The statement cited a mutual agreement for the immediate termination of their partnership, indicating that both parties had reached a consensus on the decision.

The news of their split has generated significant interest within the music community, with fans and industry insiders speculating on the reasons behind the separation and its potential implications for 2Baba’s career trajectory.

As one of Nigeria’s most iconic musicians, 2Baba’s next steps following the end of his partnership with Efe Omorogbe will undoubtedly be closely watched by fans and stakeholders alike, as he navigates this new chapter in his musical journey.

Omorogbe wrote on Instagram,

“I am grateful to 2baba for the trust and for the friendship. I am proud of the brands we built together, the music we made; the fans we entertained.

“2Baba is one of the greatest Nigerian musicians of all time and it really is an honour to have had the opportunity to walk side by side with him, watching and helping him make magic over the past two decades.

“My team and I look forward to now supporting from the sidelines, and continuing to advocate for any and everything 2Baba,” Omorogbe stated.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to achieve major milestones working with 2Baba over the last two decades. These achievements have defined an era and validated our collective contributions to the growth of the entertainment industry in Africa. For this, we are extremely proud,” he added.

2baba on the other hand acknowledged the pivotal role Omorogbe and the Now Muzik team played in his career, expressing gratitude while recognising that all good things must eventually end.

He said, “I know it’s a cliche but every good thing must come to an end. I owe a lot of my career success to Efe and his team at Now Muzik.

“Everything I’ve been able to achieve is a result of the support of so many people and organisations working with me to bring my talent and vision to life. Now Muzik is one of such companies and I couldn’t be more grateful to them.”

Notably, 2baba joined Now Muzik management in 2004 after departing from The Plantashun Boiz.

Following the announcement, 2baba will be represented by his new management company, Hypertek Digital.
