Candy Bleakz expressed disappointment when Olamide revealed Temmie as YBNL Princess instead of herself.

Candy Bleakz, a rising female rapper, recently opened up about the disappointment of losing the ‘YBNL Princess’ title to Temmie Ovwasa in 2015, a decision made by Olamide.

These revelations surfaced during her guest appearance on the latest episode of the TV show “Trending,” hosted by reality star Kim Oprah.

She revealed that she was originally slated to be YBNL Princess, but Olamide, the label’s head, opted for Temmie Ovwasa instead.

In her own words, “The day Baddo (Olamide) introduced Temmie Ovwasa, who is my friend, I felt really disappointed.

I was meant to be the YBNL Princess. I couldn’t understand why they signed someone else.” It’s important to mention that Temmie later had a falling out with Olamide over accusations of mistreatment.

Candy Bleakz on the struggles of being a female artist in Nigeria
“For a female artist, when you’re pretty it’s a problem, when you’re ugly it’s a problem. When you’re too sexy it’s an issue and when you are not it’s an issue. Because I’m bringing something to the table but you will see comments like, ‘She’s not fine. She’s not dressing sexy. And at the same time, when she is fine they would want her to bring something to the table.”
