The Department of State Services (DSS) has refuted claims of conducting a raid on the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) headquarters in Abuja.
Spokesperson Peter Afunaya addressed the matter in a brief statement on the DSS media WhatsApp handle.
In response to journalists’ inquiries about the alleged raid on the NLC office in Abuja, Afunaya clarified: “Please note that the Service (DSS) did not carry out any operation at the NLC office in Abuja.”
This statement came after the NLC raised concerns, claiming that security operatives invaded the Labour House (the NLC headquarters) around 8:30 pm.
Benson Upah, NLC’s head of Media and Public Relations, stated that books and other publications were taken during the incident.
“They broke in and ransacked the bookshop on the 2nd floor, carting away hundreds of books and other publications. The invading group claimed they were searching for seditious materials used for the #EndBadGovernance Protests,” Upah revealed.
