A fire broke out early Sunday at an LG warehouse in Abule Osun, Trade Fair, Lagos, resulting in significant damage and the destruction of properties valued at millions of naira.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) confirmed the incident, noting that it received emergency calls at 00:15 and promptly initiated its Emergency Response Plan.
According to Nosa Okunbor, LASEMA’s spokesperson, the Dolphin Response Team arrived at the scene by 00:40, only to find the warehouse engulfed in flames.
The fire ravaged various goods, including televisions, refrigerators, and air conditioners, with losses estimated to be in the hundreds of millions of naira. Although the cause of the fire is still under investigation, no casualties or injuries have been reported. LASEMA, along with the Lagos State Fire & Rescue Service, the Federal Fire Service, and other responders, succeeded in containing the blaze, preventing it from spreading to nearby structures such as other warehouses, a gas station, and residential areas.
Emergency teams remain on-site, working to fully extinguish the fire.
