The Bauchi State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) confirmed the disaster on Wednesday, noting that the flooding impacted Shira, Giade, and Katagum Local Government Areas due to heavy rainfall in recent days Continue Reading…

Mr. Masud Aliyu, the Director-General of SEMA, reported that the flood left thousands of people homeless, submerged farmlands, and severed road connections, including the Giade-Isawa road and a portion of the Kano-Maiduguri expressway.

The state government has responded by mobilizing contractors to repair the damaged roads, providing an alternative route for affected road users.

Aliyu also urged residents to pay attention to the warnings issued by the Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NIMET) regarding potential flood risks.
