Gunmen Abduct Journalist’s Wife, Children, and Seven Other Family Members in Kaduna
Suspected bandits have abducted ten members of the same family in Kaduna State, including the wife and two daughters of Muhammed Bashir, a journalist based in Kogi State.
Bashir’s wife and daughters had traveled to Kaduna earlier on Thursday to visit her family in a suburb of the city.

On Friday, Bashir confirmed the incident in a brief statement to his colleagues in Lokoja, the capital of Kogi State.
Bashir, who works as a correspondent for the Nigeria Telegraph, appealed to his colleagues for prayers. “My dear colleagues, please I need your prayers. My two daughters and their mother, along with eight others, were kidnapped yesterday by unknown gunmen in Kaduna where they went for a holiday. Please pray for me,” he shared in the Kogi Correspondents’ Chapel WhatsApp group.
He also mentioned that he had contacted the police and the Department of State Services, who assured him that efforts were underway to rescue the victims and apprehend the kidnappers.
