“He knew he was going to die months before he died”- Sound Sultan’s brother, Dare Fasasi

Fasasi, also known as Baba Dee, a veteran Nigerian artist and rapper, has stirred conflicting reactions with statements he made about his late younger brother, Sound Sultan, during an appearance on Teju Babyface’s podcast.

In the discussion, Baba Dee also reflected on missing out on the opportunity to sign Wizkid when he was still an up-and-coming artist.

He recounted how his late brother, Sound Sultan, had suggested including Wizkid in their roster at Naija Ninjas before Banky W eventually signed him. However, Baba Dee admitted he was overly confident in his own judgment at the time.

Baba Dee praised Wizkid as a peaceful and focused individual who always had a clear vision of his goals.

Additionally, the former music executive shared insights into his brother’s illness and eventual passing. He revealed that six months prior to Sound Sultan’s death, he had sensed that his time was limited, despite receiving treatment at a renowned non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma institution.

During the podcast, Baba Dee also discussed the advantages of holding a second passport and humorously mentioned that unlike his fellow guests, he didn’t have any experiences of driving for Uber.
