The Department for Combating Illegal Migration (DCIM) in Libya’s Southern Region, along with the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), has repatriated 163 Nigerian migrants, including women and children.
The group departed from Sabha International Airport.
Migrant Rescue Watch announced the operation on Tuesday via its X (formerly Twitter) handle, highlighting efforts to manage and mitigate illegal migration in the region.
This repatriation is part of a broader strategy to tackle migration challenges in Libya, a key transit point for migrants aiming to reach Europe. The IOM has been collaborating with Libyan authorities to ensure the safe return of migrants, who often endure harsh conditions in detention centers.
