Military humbled me – Cute Abiola recounts 30-day ordeal in Navy cell

Popular content creator, Abdulgafar Ahmad, widely known as Cute Abiola, has expressed gratitude to the Nigerian military for the impact it has had on his life.

Cute Abiola, a former Naval officer, was detained and disciplined in November 2021 for violating the armed forces’ social media policy by posting a video of himself in military attire on the internet.

Reflecting on his experience, he shared photos on his Instagram page, reminiscing about his time in a Navy cell.

Acknowledging the humbling effect of his incarceration, he mentioned how the military experience had a profound impact on him, stating that it humbled him.

Captioning the pictures, he wrote, “30 days Inside cell 2021! The military really humbled me. Thank you Armed Forces. My morale was high. I had a little fun inside the cell at some point.”

In November 2022, Cute Abiola left the Nigerian Navy to pursue a career in entertainment. He cited his desire to focus more on his entertainment career as the reason for his decision.

His departure from the Navy coincided with his appointment as Special Assistant on Creative Industries by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State.
