Niger State plans wedding for 100 female orphans.

Abdulmalik Sarkindaji, the Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, has unveiled a plan to facilitate marriages for 100 female orphans from Mariga Local Government Area, who lost their parents in banditry attacks.

In a statement in Minna, the state capital, Sarkindaji committed to funding the dowries for the bridegrooms and providing all essential materials for the wedding ceremony.

These girls, chosen from a pool of 170, are set to benefit from this initiative, which is part of Sarkindaji’s constituency empowerment project designed to support the disadvantaged.

The ceremony, which will be overseen by Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago, and the Emir of Kontagora, Alhaji Mohammed Barau, as guardians for the orphans, will also be attended by the Kano State Commander General of the Hisbah Board, Sheikh Aminu Daurawa. The event is scheduled for May 24 at Bangi, the headquarters of Mariga Local Government Area.
