Only NWC Has Power To Suspend Ganduje, individuals claiming to have suspended Ganduje were imposters – APC Legal Adviser, Kana

Abdulkarim Kana, the APC’s National Legal Adviser, asserted that only the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) has the authority to suspend its National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje. Kana made these remarks during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday.

He was responding to Ganduje’s recent suspension by various factions in his ward. Two factions of the Ganduje ward had suspended his membership for alleged corruption during his tenure as Kano governor. However, the APC’s State Working Committee in Kano overturned the suspension and imposed disciplinary measures on the ward executives.

A Federal High Court in Kano issued an ex parte order temporarily halting the execution of the suspension until the case is heard. Additionally, a Kano State High Court judge vacated the order suspending Ganduje as the National Chairman of the APC.

Kana emphasized that no party organ has the right to suspend any member except the NWC, and all procedures must be followed before such action can be carried out, according to the party’s constitution.

He dismissed those who suspended Ganduje as “random individuals,” stating that they were not members of the ruling party and did not hold positions in the ward or party executives. Kana highlighted the seriousness of the matter, stating that investigations revealed that the individuals claiming to have suspended Ganduje were imposters.

The party’s National Legal Adviser also mentioned that a specific complaint was lodged with the police by the authentic ward executives, and the matter is under investigation by the authorities.
