Nollywood actress Regina Daniels recently faced backlash after advocating for a peaceful approach during nationwide protests against bad governance.
On the first day of the protests, Daniels posted a video urging Nigerians to maintain peace. However, many criticized her, arguing that she was not in a position to give such advice and warning her to avoid social media backlash.
In a new video on her Instagram page, Daniels acknowledged her privileged position but emphasized that it doesn’t prevent her from understanding the need for her domestic staff to receive a raise.
She expressed frustration with her critics, asserting that change in Nigeria cannot happen overnight. Daniels clarified that her stance is not an attempt to gain approval, as she does not seek validation from anyone.
Daniels also shared footage of protesters in the north waving a Russian flag, highlighting the escalating nature of the protests. Her post was captioned: “I speak as a proud citizen of this Great Country! WE ALL WANT A GREAT NIGERIA 🇳🇬”
