Simi strongly criticizes trolls for drawing comparisons between her husband, Adekunle Gold’s, music style and hers.

Singer Simi has voiced her frustration regarding fans who have questioned her music style and drawn comparisons between her sound and that of her husband, Adekunle Gold.

The artist, famous for her song ‘Duduke’, recently posted a clip of herself singing a new song on X, leading a fan to request that she “switch up” her sound.

Simi became frustrated when fans urged her to alter her musical style and drew comparisons between her sound and that of her husband, Adekunle Gold.

In a recent post on Thursday, the ‘Duduke’ singer shared a video of herself performing one of her new songs on the X platform, prompting a fan to suggest a change in her sound.

@Zeebaby_X, a fan, commented:

“Hey, try switching up your sound a bit. Your husband does it and it’s awesome to witness.

You’re too talented to stick to the basics.”

Other fans joined in, voicing their agreement with her.

Simi appeared angered by the controversy surrounding her comment, stating:

“Seems like I’m just going about my business, right? Okay, okay Zeebaby, let’s talk. Can you name the last say… 10 songs I’ve released and let’s analyze them.

Which ones do you think sound similar? Then explain how your favorites are doing it differently or better than me.

Maybe you think I should change my genre? Or add more flair? Or maybe it’s my voice? Is it too soft, sweet, or sharp for you? Should I do something drastic for diversity?

We’re not fighting. I genuinely want your feedback. Guide me. Assist me, Zeebaby.”

In another post, the singer suggested that listeners who don’t enjoy her music should explore other artists.

Simi pointed out that British singer Adele employs a similar musical style, yet her fans don’t raise similar complaints.
