Former National Vice Chairman North-West of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Salihu Lukman, has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s government for being indifferent to the struggles of Nigerians and the dire state of the nation.
He expressed concern that despite the widespread hardship and hunger across the country, Tinubu’s administration has engaged in frivolous and extravagant spending.
Lukman pointed out that the federal government’s insensitivity and poor handling of critical national issues have contributed to the increasing volatility in the country.
He urged Nigerians to take action and initiate the process of reforming the country’s democratic structures in the wake of the #EndBadGovernance movement, with the goal of removing the APC from power. In a statement issued on Sunday titled, “#EndBadGovernance Campaign: What Next?”, Lukman emphasized that every committed democrat in the country must rise to this challenge and work to mobilize Nigerians to channel their anger constructively towards reforming the nation’s democratic framework.
He stated, “As it stands, President Asiwaju Tinubu’s administration appears to be indulging in excessive spending amid widespread hunger and poverty, contributing to the highly volatile situation in the country.”
Lukman further noted that, with many political leaders already discontented and the government having rendered nearly all registered political parties inactive, efforts to unite these aggrieved leaders across all parties must begin in earnest.
